Autograph letter signed to J.C. Adams

Has sent copies of the Nautical Almanac 1847 - 1850, via Challis, as a gift in admiration of JCA's discovery of Neptune. Has consulted with Sheepshanks: JCA's paper on the discovery is to printed immediately and issued as an appendix to the Nautical Almanac. In the interests of speed requests JCA to come to London to read the proofs. Copyright arrangements.

Has received JCA's packet. Annoyed at his indifference to the honour of himself, College and Country. Will check the proofs in his absence if really necessary, but it would be better if JCA came to London to see them. Proofs to be sent to JCA must be returned quickly.
